Not every product or product combination suits machine-fed packing.
Fragile or unusually shaped items are best handpicked and packed to keep them safe from damage. Hand packing is also cheaper for small runs, where the set-up of machinery doesn’t provide the best return on your investment.
The benefits of handpicking in co-packing
- Safer when dealing with items which are delicate or otherwise unsuited to machine-wrapping.
- Better packing results for individual items or product bundles of an awkward shape and size.
- Simpler to place grouped items into particular order, by colour, size, importance or any other priority.
- Easy to add extra items such as tags, including to large machine-fed runs.
- More cost-effective and faster set-up for small packing runs.

- Greetings cards, stationery and other printed materials.
- Mugs and other crockery.
- Promotional packs, particularly for use in small numbers, eg at exhibitions.
- Toiletry sets.
- Product test runs.
